myth for lamb's quarter

The world will end.

Not exactly in the way you think. That’s for another seer or fortune teller to relate. But when it does the world will be black. It will have undergone many forms of destruction all of which will have come together as a crow who will bring the end. It will be silent then. A hush will cover the earth, and we, all of life, will, in one way or another, forget.

Forgetting will be the ultimate destruction. There will be no one to see patterns. But that’s not to say there will be no patterns. The traces of life will be written like the smallest ripple in the sand by the place where the ocean once was. Or the sound of a bird’s wing, shifting in a place where the wind once filled the trees. When the sun is strongest it will look upon our dead earth and will send down nine white bowls that the wind will sing into as it passes from one planet to the next. These songs will stir the earth and send up dust that will look for water. It will have to go far to find this water, but when it does the alien water will fall and a dull green plant will grow. All of the ashes of the people who came before will be rearranged in the form of this plant. And from the lamb’s quarter the stories of life will be told again.
