Deciduous

Anthology of Forests Launch!

Blue rolling hills, softened by summer leaves, laced with rivers and streams... if I was born in any other part of the world I believe I would be somehow different. The deciduous forest made me. Set apart from its four distinct seasons, each of which dramatically changed the land and foliage. To live in this climates is to become deeply familiar with massive change.

.

The trees adapt to the seasonal shift by expelling a huge amount of energy each spring to reform broad leaves.

.

Deciduous forests are layered, from the ground, to herd, shrub, and upper layers.

I think about what it means to call a place home: to move in an ecosystem.
